Words: On fine ropes and falling

We walk a fine rope
we merry pranksters
Stepping out
and over
null conformity
Daring
to be difference
Daring
to challenge
indifference

We who speak
many truths
others ignore
We who distill
small experience
to the universal
in hope
of helping
easing
welcoming
change
A constant
pleasant
guest

We walk a fine rope
and their fear
for our safety
would have them
call us back
Not to step
for the terror
of the plummet

It’s okay
I know
I could fall
at any moment
you don’t need
to provide
safety nets
no matter
how ill-fitting
their garb

I could fall
at any moment

We walk fine ropes
Didn’t you know
Each step is for you
