Here are the days
and places
I have sat and watched
the world go by
Faces of people
I don’t know
walk by
Their faces
attention focused on them now
They seem my friends
though clouds
are above this square
And the Leos who are there
will not
offer me protection
As the day
scrawls its name
in clouds and blue sky
attention gathered
to the faces and the people
My audience
The performers
Absorbed in their movement
Their cares, their ills
Not knowing
Not caring
But watching them still
