Plinky.com asked me chocolate or vanilla.
I tried. I really tried. I started a poem and everything.
I'm getting tired of the negativity of pointing out how banal some of these prompts are to me. I used to raise a post-modern eyebrow, laughing at the irony of what society finds interesting. I used to believe I was stretching myself by writing for each and every prompt.
Then, this last week, I consciously refused to write anything on one prompt – thankfully, I can't even remember what it was – and in that act, reclaimed some small piece of sanity for myself, a step back into my uncompromised identity.
Plinky – I love you because you provide me some chance of exploring myself and the worlds seen and unseen around me. Thank you.
But chocolate or vanilla? Really?
I prefer fresh coriander.
