Today, the 25 songs in 25 days challenge asks me to share a song that makes me want to dance.
Not a song that makes me dance.
But a song that makes me want to dance.
Is there a difference?
Because there are many songs that make me dance. But if I want to dance, I dance – so, I’m thinking hard on songs that make me want to dance, but where I don’t/can’t actually dance.
[and that rules out most anything with a decent beat]
And it’s very few, to tell the truth.
Hmmm…
Maybe I’ll try it as a song that makes me want to dance in a way I know I can’t dance. That opens up the worlds of ballet, jazz, interpretive dance.
And it opens up the bizarre though of my dancing nothing like how I dance normally.
All of which leads me to the era-defining, wonderful spectacle of Bez from Happy Mondays and Black Grape. Could I dance like Bez? Never
[could anybody dance just like Bez?]
Do I dance like Bez? Impossible
[see above]
Does this song make me want to dance like Bez? Definitely.
Here’s Kelly’s Heroes by the Black Grape, which really, really makes me want to dance like Bez.

Don’t talk to me about heroes,
