Story seed | His brilliance

“His brilliance, his sheer audacity, was to bury the bodies where everyone could see them, where people could look right at them; where many actually made the trip specifically to see them.

His brilliance was to put it all out there in public, hiding his crimes in full view.

Yes, the devil ran in the open air, and we had no way of knowing just who he was.”

This seed was triggered as I read a random post out on the interwebs – don’t know if I’ll do anything with it, but I do already know exactly what he does with the bodies and it’s pretty horrific. I haven’t written an out and out horror novel since the early 90’s, and I’m not sure I particularly want to write another right now – but if I did, it would be a cracker.

And yes, this particular devil would run in the open air, his victims celebrated in plain sight.

Sounds fantastic, run with it I say! Seems you have come a long way from “Soul Stealing Sexual Vampires”

Too little time, too many seeds, unfortunately – I have one novel, Rufus, about a third of the way through, and the Asylum short film screenplay is now beginning to expand in my head, probably a novel too – and then a screen adaptation. Nice to see an Of The Tribe reference! (I recently read over those early novels recently, and the difference between my writing and story-telling then and now is very, VERY clear!!!

From reading your March 10 post it seemed like you were thinking of knocking it on the head which would be a shame, the world is a better place for creative talents such as yourself. Wishing you the best in your business and your art.
