CORINTHIAN – PART II
50th floor got the Empire State
Traffic flows under me
Swallowed by tunnels
Drifted and floated through streets
Immaterial
Empty and homeless
Lost in translation
Street seller pedals
his wares by the roadside
Sells the health lifestyle
all covered in city grime
I’m alone in the ache of a bubble
My girls in the telephone
All I can do just to
Get to the morning
Lost in debate
We’re lost in the storming
Faces contorted
Whispering nothing
Separate collusion
Empty observation
Headphones and steely eyes
Don’t look up to the sky
Airplanes are circling
A fragrant memorial
Trace memory bearing down
Body thump concrete cloud
I’m alone in the ache of a bubble
My girls in the telephone
All I can do just to
Get to the morning
New York is covered in fog on this city night
Joggers are circling
the last of the evening light
Coffee and curry and cable car overhead
Roosevelt island is breaking
its daily bread
Central Park stretches a green grass anomaly
Museums
Galleries
Stranded in solitary
________________
A long day thinking about my spiritual home, New York City, and it brought me full circle to a night when I experienced an awful, aching, weightless feeling of being a ghost floating through the city streets – insubstantial, like I didn’t exist, had never existed, would never exist.
Corinthian – Part II was a song a wrote to exorcise that feeling.

I love to write in a moment, and I love to write for you, so please leave me a prompt in the comments – a word, a sentence, an image – and I’ll write you a little something.
Also, sometimes, my writing helps someone I don’t know – I can’t predict or plan for that, and I’m humbled when I hear it’s happened – all I can do is ask you to share my writing, and increase the chances that it gets to the person who may need it.
Thank you for reading, as always!
